The New
River is a 400-year-old water course that rises near Ware in Hertfordshire
and flows into north London. This website is based on a CD-ROM produced
by Thames Water for teachers of Key Stages 2 and 3. It brings together
elements of the history, science and environment curriculum along
with water safety issues. The material was developed in partnership
with a number of bodies and individuals with an interest in the
New River. They have helped realise its potential as an educational
resource by combining some unique images with background material
and teaching aids in a versatile format. Thames Water have been
delighted to work in partnership with the local community in producing
a resource that we believe will add value to the school curriculum.
