Water Treatment

The water found in rivers and streams in the Thames Water area is clean enough to support a variety of wildlife. Although it is clean, it is not safe to drink and therefore needs to be treated in a water treatment works to remove any substances that may be harmful. The journey from the source to the tap is a complex one involving a variety of processes and transport in many kilometres of pipeline.
